My Amazon Listing Is Suppressed. What Does That Mean and What Do I Do?

A suppressed listing is hidden from shoppers because Amazon found a problem, such as missing information, a missing or wrong image, or a price problem. You can see these listings in Seller Central under Inventory. Open the issue, fix what Amazon says is wrong, and check again. Some fixes show up fast and some need review. If you cannot fix it, open a case with Seller Support.
What does suppressed mean?
When Amazon suppresses a listing, it hides it from shoppers. Your product is still in your account. But people cannot find it or buy it, because Amazon found something wrong.
This is often why sales suddenly drop to zero. So if your sales fall, check for suppressed listings early.
Step 1: Find the suppressed listings
In Seller Central:
- Open the menu and choose Inventory, then Manage Inventory.
- Look for a tool that shows suppressed and inactive listings. Amazon often calls this area Fix Your Products. The menu names can change, so look for words like suppressed or inactive.
- Use the filters to see which listings have issues.
- Click a listing to read the reason Amazon gives.
Write down each product and its issue. Fix the biggest sellers first.
The common reasons and the fixes
| Reason | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Missing information | A required detail is empty, such as a title, category, or price per unit | Fill in the missing field |
| Missing or wrong image | There is no main image, or it breaks Amazon's image rules | Upload a clean main image. Use a pure white background. Follow Amazon's image guide |
| Missing category details | Some categories need extra fields, such as size, color, or unit count | Add the fields Amazon asks for |
| Title problems | The title is too long or breaks style rules for the category | Shorten it. Follow Amazon's style guide |
| Price problem | The price may look too high or wrong compared with other offers | Check your price and fix errors |
| Variation problems | One child product in a group has an issue | Fix each child listing |
| No stock | The offer is out of stock, so it becomes inactive | Restock or update the quantity |
Rules change by category. Always check Amazon's current style guide for your category.
Step 2: Fix it and check again
After you fix the problem, save your changes. Some listings come back soon. Others need Amazon to review them. Check back after a while and look at the status again.
If the issue is still there, read the message again. Sometimes the fix is a small detail, such as a missing field.
Step 3: Ask for help if you are stuck
Open a case with Seller Support. Include:
- The product name and its ASIN (Amazon's product code)
- A screenshot of the issue
- What you already tried
Keep the note short and calm.
Step 4: Stop it from happening again
- Check the suppressed list once a week.
- Keep a master copy of your title, text, and images for each product.
- Follow Amazon's style guide when you add new products.
- Keep stock above zero.
- Check Account Health for warnings.

A simple example
Imagine a brand that sells a skincare cream. One morning, sales are zero. The owner opens Manage Inventory and sees the main listing is suppressed. The reason says the main image does not follow the rules.
The owner uploads a new main image with a pure white background and checks the image rules again. Later that day, the listing is active again.
This example is made up to show the steps. Real cases vary.

The listing is still in your account, but shoppers cannot find or buy it because Amazon found a problem that you need to fix.
How do I find suppressed listings?
In Seller Central, open Inventory, then Manage Inventory, and look for the tool that shows suppressed and inactive listings. Amazon sometimes renames menus, so look for words like Fix Your Products or Suppressed.
How long does it take to fix a suppressed listing?
It depends on the problem. Some fixes show up in a short time. Others need Amazon to review them. Amazon sets the time.
